Sushmita-Wasim part ways after being together for over five months

Splitsville. It's over between Sushmita Sen and Wasim Akram. The actor and the Pakistani cricketer were together for the past few months, but parted ways recently.

One learns that Sushmita's growing closeness to Indian Premier League (IPL) chief Lalit Modi didn't go down too well with Wasim.

They were serious about each other and had talked about living together in the future.

While he couldn't move to India, and she didn't want to live in Pakistan, they'd discussed living together in Dubai, where his children live. However as time passed, she seemed reluctant to leave the city and move with him to Dubai.

He stayed back after the IPL for as long as he could, even though he wasn't very comfortable being part of her glam circle. But the differences just kept increasing till they mutually decided to call it off.

They met on an Indian dance show where they were both judges. The sparks were obvious on screen as well but nothing happened at the time because he was still married.

After his wife Huma passed away in October 2009, they became really close. Sush and Was (Akram's cricket name) were spotted together at many private parties and at a dinner with her mom. But they both stuck to the "we are just friends" version.

He was spending a lot of time in India due to his commitment to Shah Rukh Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. The former left-arm fast bowler looked like he had found some happiness after the tragedy when he started dating the actress.

The grapevine is abuzz with the news that former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen is dating former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram. Adding more fuel to the fire, they recently made public appearance together at a hot nightspot.

“Akram and Sushmita walked in hand in hand at around 11.30 on Monday night. They booked the bed-by-the-sea table and were seen relaxing. They seemed very comfortable in each other’s company. Later, a couple of Sushmita’s female friends also joined them. While Akram was acting coy, Sushmita seemed to be in pretty a playful mood and was loud enough to let the world know that she’s very happy with the new man in her life. Both of them stayed together till around 1.45 when the restaurant shut down,” Mumbai Mirror quoted an eyewitness as saying.

It's reported that the duo got to know each other well while judging reality show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. However, Akram was married to Huma and Sushmita was seeing director Mudassar Aziz at that point of time. They got closer after the demise of Wasim’s wife Huma last October.

The duo has been spotted in many events but they have not made their relationship public till date.
